1. Madras beef curry recipe

Madras beef curry recipe is one of the simple beef recipes that you can prepare at home.

  • Tomato puree or sliced
  • 2 tbsp ground coriander
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chilli powder
  • Coconut paste 
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Coriander leaves, to serve
  • Steamed Basmati rice, to serve
  • Raita , to serve

Method of preparation

Add Beef into a pressure cooker with a ½ teaspoon of turmeric , ginger garlic paste and salt required ,cook it until the beef is tender. Heat a large saucepan, add 3 tablespoons of sesame oil , add whole spices then add sliced onion saute it until it becomes golden brown color, then add green chillies, curry leaves and 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste saute for a min. 

Here add up the tomato sliced or puree and cook it until raw smell leaves. Remove the lid from the pressure cooker ,transfer the cooked beef into the saucepan , add the masala Red chilli powder, ground coriander ,ground cumin powder ,turmeric, pepper, coconut paste and lemon juice. Add required water for gravy ,taste the gravy ddd salt as needed

Give a quick mix . close the saucepan and cook it in low flame. Stir the gravy occasionally while cooking, to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan. Once it’s done, spread chopped coriander leaves. Serve the beef recipe hot with white rice

2. Beef chukka recipe homemade

Ingredients : 

To make masala powder

  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp 
  • Cumin seeds -1 tsp 
  • Peppercorn 1 1/2 tsp 
  • Fennel - 1 tsp
  • Coriander seeds 1 tbsp 
  • Red chilies -10 nos

For Preparation

  • Meats Today Boneless Beef
  • Water - 1 cup
  • salt  required
  • Shallots - 15-20
  • Green chilies - 2 nos
  • Tomatoes - 2 nos
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp 
  • Curry leaves 
  • Coriander leaves 
  • Coconut oil  Required

Methods Of Preparation

In a pressure cooker, add 1 cup of water .Add 500 gms of boneless beef

Add 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder and 1/2 tsp of salt .Pressure cook it for about 6-7 whistles on medium flame. once the beef is cooked well, keep it aside. Next, to make the masala powder, in a mixer jar add 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tbsp coriander seeds, 1 1/2 tsp peppercorns, 10 red chilies, 1 tsp fennel seeds. Grind everything to a fine powder and keep this aside. Heat a saucepan with 3 tbsp of coconut oil, add 200 gms of shallots, 2 green chilies slit, few curry leaves and saute them.

Once the onions turn golden brown in color add 1 tsp of ginger garlic paste and saute for a minute. Add 2 chopped tomatoes and saute it for 2-3 mins then add 1 1/2 tbsp of the ground masala powder and mix well now add the cooked boneless beef pieces along with the stock and mix it well with the masala .At this stage add salt if needed. Cook till the excess water evaporates and you get a dry sukka .Finally, garnish it with some curry leaves and serve it hot .

3.Chettinad Beef curry Recipe


Chettinad masala required

  • Coriander Seeds - 2 tbsp
  • Fennel Seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Black Peppercorns - 1 tbsp
  • Cinnamon - 1 inch
  • Dried Red Chilli - 6 nos
  • Kashmiri Red Chilli - 4 nos
  • Star Anise - 1 no
  • Cumin Seeds - 1 tbsp
  • Cardamom - 3 nos
  • Cloves - 8 nos

For Preparation

  • Coconut - ¼ Cup
  • Poppy Seeds - 2 tbsp
  • Gingelly Oil - 3 tbsp
  • Whole spices
  • Shallots - 1 Cup
  • Curry Leaves Required
  • Onion (finely chopped) - 1 Cup
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 2 tbsp
  • Turmeric Powder - ½ tsp
  • Tomato (finely chopped) - 1 Cup
  • Beef with bones - 1 kg
  • Salt required
  • Coriander Leaves (finely chopped) 

How to Cook Chettinad Beef curry?

In a saucepan, dry roast all the spices for the masala paste. Once it gives a nice aroma, add the poppy seeds and coconut. Saute lightly until dry and the color just starts to change.Cool down the mixture and grind it to a paste, adding water as required. Add this paste to the beef and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Heat oil in a pan and add spices, curry leaves, shallots, and onions. Once it turns golden brown color, add ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, and tomato. Saute for 2-3 minutes. Add the marinated beef piece and salt to taste. Add water and pressure cook for 30 minutes on medium flame. Your chettinad beef gravy is ready. Garnish with coriander leaves and curry leaves before you serve. Serve it with white rice
